Overview

RIISE and R4D, the research and development organization of Mercari Inc., launched a joint research project “Value Exchange Engineering” to conduct extensive research on novel value exchange through rapid technological development.

Human beings have been exchanging value since ancient times, starting with barter, and continue to do so in various forms today. In recent years, the rapid development of technologies such as AI and blockchain has given rise to new forms of value exchange and trust. We are working on research topics based on the following three visions in order to realize a society where people around the world can exchange values fairly and smoothly.

Value analysis

Technology to quantify the value of goods and services based on scarcity and context.

Value generation

Research on technologies to create and enhance the value of goods and services created by people.

Value exchange

Research on platform technologies that support value exchange
